Konark: The Sun Temple at Konark, which was closed since May 3 after the extremely severe cyclonic storm Fani hit the Puri coast, will be reopened for tourists within two-three days, said Usha Sharma, Director General, Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), here on Friday.
Talking to mediapersons after visiting the temple in the afternoon, she said the ASI team, which had accompanied her, found no structural damage to the temple.
“More than 200 big trees inside the temple premises have been uprooted,” she said, adding that the temple will be reopened for tourists after the ASI team cleans up the premises. “Tourist inflow to the temple will be normal within 15 days, she added.
