Berhampur: Three persons were killed of asphyxiation in a newly built septic tank at Bikrampur village under Gopalpur police station in Ganjam district on Thursday.
The tragic incident took place when Sadanand Reddy, a mason, went to the house of Siddheswar Reddy to dismantle the false ceiling of the tank. After entering the tank, Sadanand lost consciousness.
Siddheswar called his neighbourers Krishna Reddy and Tarinia Reddy who rushed to the rescue of Sadanand. But they also lost consciousness inside tank.
Later, the villagers rushed three of them to MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur where they were declared brought dead, police sources said.
