Puri: At least three Congress activists were injured in a clash between two groups at the Congress Bhawan here on Monday.
The incident took place in the presence of Odisha Congress incharge Jitendra Singh, Pradesh Congress Committee president Niranjan Patnaik and former MP Pradeep Majhi.
According to reports, the Congress Odisha incharge and PCC president were entering the party office to attend a review meeting when some miscreants attacked them with sharp weapons and iron rods.
The injured have been admitted to Puri Sadar Hospital. The condition of one of them is stated to be critical.
The three injured Congress members, Swapnajit Ray, Alok Das and Ashutosh Mishra who sustained multiple injuries were rushed to the District Headquarters Hospital where the condition of Ashutosh is stated to be critical.
Following information, Kumbharapada police rushed to the Congress Bhawan and detained a youth and seized an iron rod from his possession.
