Three killed in lightning strikes in Bhadrak

Bhadrak: Three persons, including a couple, were killed and two others injured in lightning strikes in Bhadrak district on Monday.
The deceased were identified as Archana Sutar (35), Ramesh Sutar (42) and Prafulla Jena (54).
The Sutar couple died at Bahadalpur village under Bhadrak Town Police limits while Jena was struck by lighting at Patia village in the district. All the three were killed while working in paddy fields.
District emergency office sources said two persons of Ichhapur village under Bhadrak rural police limits sustained injuries in lightning while returning from their paddy field. They were admitted to Bhadrak district headquarters hospital, the sources added.
