Three Luxury Hotels In Bengaluru Receive Bomb Threat Email

New Delhi: A bomb threat email was sent to three reputed hotels, including The Oterra Hotel situated in Electronic City, prompting authorities to launch a probe. According to the DCP South East Bengaluru, police, bomb squads, and sniffer dogs were sent to the hotels to search for explosives.

The fresh threat was reported after the Home Ministry in Delhi received a bomb threat email, but was declared a hoax after nothing objectionable was found. The threat was received through an email around 3:30 pm by a senior officer posted at the ministry, according to a Delhi Fire Services (DFS) official.

It was written in the email that the “building will explode as a bomb is planted”, a police officer said and added that the IP address and other details of the mail are being checked.

An officer, who did not wish to be named, said the mail was sent from an anonymous Gmail address and the sender is suspected to have used a VPN that masks IP address.
