Bhubaneswar: Smart City Special squad of BSCL along with Central Enforcement squad of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) penalised three showrooms at Ashok Nagar in Odisha capital for alleged gross violation of COVID-19 guidelines.
The squad raided MAX, Shree Leathers and Easy Buy Showroom during enforcement/ awareness checking duty against fight COVID-19 and found that the customers were not maintaining social distancing norms and the showroom staff were not wearing the mask.
According to a BSCL release, Max showroom and Shree Leathers were slapped a fine of Rs 10,000 each, while Easy Buy showroom was asked to cough up Rs 3,000.
Thereafter, the BMC squad with police team stopped a housewarming ceremony at Azad Nagar in Sunderpada area and a penalty of Rs 7,000 was imposed on the owner on the ground of violations of COVID-19 norms.
A written undertaking was also taken from the owner of the house with a warning not to gathering people, the release added.
