Three Odisha Politicians Test COVID-19 Positive Today

Bhubaneswar: After Odisha BJP President Samir Mohanty and School & Mass Education Minister Samir Ranjan Dash, Dhenkanal MLA Sudhir Kumar Samal on Monday took to Twitter to inform that he had tested positive for COVID-19.

“I am doing well, but as per the advice of doctors I am in quarantine and under treatment,” he wrote.

He also requested to all those who had come in contact with him or his Personal Security Officer (PSO) in the past few days to isolate themselves and undergo COVID test.

Samal is the 23rd MLA of BJD to have contracted the virus. Former Badamba MLA of the party Debi Prasad Mishra has also tested positive.

Besides Samir Dash, minister Ranendra Pratap Swain, Tukuni Sahu, Jyoti Prakash Panigrahi, Susanta Singh, Arun Kumar Sahu and Padmini Dian have also been infected.

Two BJD MPs Ramesh Majhi (Nabarangpur) and Manjulata Mandal (Bhadrak) have also tested positive for the virus.
