Nilagiri: Three shops at Santaragadia market in Nilagiri of Balasore district were reduced to ashes in a fire mishap late on Sunday.
No injury or casualty was reported from the spot.
Property worth several lakhs of rupees were destroyed in the fire incident.
Fire personnel, who were immediately pressed into service, took more than an hour to douse the flames completely.
According to the local businessmen, the fire was caused by an electrical short circuit due to faulty wiring in the market.
