Bhubaneswar: Thunderstorm and gusty wind may continue in 23 districts of Odisha till Thursday morning as a cyclonic circulation persists over southeast Bay of Bengal.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned of thunderstorm accompanied by lightning and gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph at isolated places in the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Nuapada, Balangir, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Angul & Dhenkanal till 8.30 am on February 26. Light to moderate rain or thunderstorm may also occur at one or two places in coastal Odisha, Nuapada, Balangir, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Angul and Dhenkanal districts.
The weather agency has also predicted a gradual rise by 2-3 degrees across the state after 3 days amid the prevailing dry weather.
