Thunderstorm In 14 Odisha Dists Today As Heavy Rain To Resume From Friday; IMD Issues Yellow Alert

Bhubaneswar: Wet spell is likely to continue in many parts of Odisha for the next one week, while heavy rain may resume in several areas from Friday, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Wednesday.

In its midday weather bulletin, the Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar said that light to moderate rain/thundershower may occur at a few places over south Odisha and at one or two places over northern region during the next 24 hours.

The weather agency also issued yellow warning of thunderstorm with lightning at one or two places over Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, and Keonjhar districts during the period.

Light to moderate rain and thundershower may occur at many places over the districts of Odisha for a week.

July 12

Yellow Warning: Heavy rain is likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Sundargarh, and Jharsuguda.

July 13

Yellow Warning: Heavy rain may occur at one or two places over the districts of Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Koraput, Rayagada, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Nabarangpur, Gajapati, and Ganjam.

July 14

Yellow Warning: Heavy rain is likely to occur at one or two places over Gajapati, Ganjam, Kandhamal, Rayagada, and Koraput districts.
