Bhubaneswar: Thunderstorm with lightning and rain likely to occur in the blocks of Jatni-Khurda-Bhubaneswar-Balianta of Odisha’s Khurda district till 3 pm on Thursday.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) had earlier warned of one or two intense spells of rain is likely in some parts of Dhenkanal, Angul, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Malkangiri, and Koraput districts in Odisha till 5 pm. Minor damage to loose/unsecured structures and standing crops is likely in these areas.
Yellow warning of light to moderate rain/thundershower with lightning has also been issued for 11 districts, including twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack, during the next 3 hours. The districts, which are likely to be affected, are Nayagarh, Sundargarh, Rayagada, Gajapati, Kandhamal, Jajpur, Cuttack, Khurda, Boudh, Nabarangpur, and Deogarh. People have been advised to keep a watch on the weather and accordingly move to safer places to protect themselves from lightning strikes.
