Light rain or thundershower is likely to occur at some places in Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Ganjam, Gajapati, Koraput, and Rayagada in next 24 hours.

However, heatwave conditions are likely to prevail in Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Boudh, Angul, Nayagarh, Nuapada and Balangir.

Meanwhile, the weather agency said that due to anticipated strong gusty surface wind speed reaching 40 to 50 kmph likely along and off north Odisha coast during May May 6 to 8. Fisherman are advised not to venture into sea along and off north Odisha coast during this period.

Due to anticipated by high energy swell waves near shore region and low lying areas, fishermen and coastal population are alerted to be cautious on possible surging of waves (gushing of sea water).
