Thunderstorm & Rain To Continue In Odisha Till Tomorrow, Temp May Rise By 2-4°C After 2 Days
Bhubaneswar: Thunderstorm coupled with gusty surface wind and lightning is likely to be experienced in several parts of Odisha by Wednesday, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Tuesday.
In its midday bulletin, the Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar said that south-westerly to southerly winds are prevailing at lower levels over the region and light to moderate rain/thundershower may occur at some places in the state in next 24 hours.
State capital Bhubaneswar and adjoining areas are likely to experience cloudy sky with one or two spells of rain/thundershower in next 24 hours.
The weather agency sounded yellow warning about thunderstorm with lightning accompanied by gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph for several parts of the state in next 24 hours. The districts include Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Nuapada, Balangir, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Dhenkanal, Angul, Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Sundargarh, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, and Gajapati.
Yellow warning for thunderstorm with lightning for some places of Malkangiri, Nabarangpur, Balangir, and Kandhamal districts was also issued for Wednesday and Thursday.
While there will be no large change in maximum temperature (day temperature) during next two days, it may rise by 2-4 degree Celsius at many places of the state thereafter.
