Bhubaneswar: Thunderstorm accompanied by lightning, gusty wind and rain is likely to lash at least four districts of Odisha by noon on Saturday, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said in a nowcast warning.
In a message issued at 9.15 am, the IMD sounded an orange alert for Nuapada, Balangir, Kalahandi, and Bargarh districts.
Moderate thunderstorm is expected to hit these areas within the next three hours, bringing wind speeds of 40-50 kmph and light to moderate rain.
The storm may cause minor damage to weak structures, banana trees, and standing crops. People are advised to be vigilant and take necessary precautions.
