Bhubaneswar: As many as 17 districts of Odisha, including Khurda and Cuttack, are likely to experience thunderstorm with gusty winds on Friday.
The Regional Centre of India Meteorological Department predicted thunderstorm with lightning and gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph for the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Kandhamal, Nayagarh and Khurda.
In view of the IMD warning, the Special Relief Commissioner has asked the collectors of the districts to closely monitor the situation and take necessary measures.
