‘Tiger’ Fear In Odisha’s Nabarangpur Village
Nabarangpur: The residents of Gadaba Katara village in Odisha’s Nabarangpur district are living in fear of a wild animal, apparently a big cat.
In the last few days, the wild animal has hunted nearly five calves which were kept outside the house. Head of a calf was found a few metres from one of the villager’s house, said a woman.
Another villager said the big cat was spotted by some locals on the main road leading to the village.
The panicked villagers have appealed the forest officials to take necessary steps to catch the ‘tiger’ as they are unable to move out after evening due to the fear of the big cat.
A team of the local forest team visited the spot and is likely to submit details on their findings to district authorities. Some pug marks were also seen in the area but those are yet to be confirmed as that of a tiger or even a cheetah.
