New Delhi: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) plans to issue fresh summons to Tina Ambani, 68, wife of debt-laden Reliance Group chairman Anil Ambani, after she failed to appear for questioning in Delhi on Monday.
The PTI, quoting sources within the agency, reported that she will be called again soon with a new date for deposition.
According to reports, the probe pertains to a suspicious money trail allegedly linked to the high-end property of a luxury condominium in New York’s Manhattan. It is suspected an apartment worth Rs 70 crore may have been acquired using funds diverted from large bank loans originally obtained for business purposes by group entities.
Punit Garg, former president of Reliance Communications (RCOM), a key ADAG firm, was arrested earlier this month in the same case.
The agency has formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe multiple cases of alleged bank fraud and linked financial irregularities against the Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group (ADAG) on the direction of Supreme Court.
