Bhubaneswar: Tourism minister Ashok Chandra Panda on Sunday launched the new shuttle service at Dhauli.
“The initiative aims at preventing accidents on the narrow road connecting the foothills and the hilltop of Dhauli by restricting movement of heavy vehicles”, the minister said.
Initially, six AC mini-buses (26-seater) will be operational from the foothill to hilltop in regular intervals. The tourists and visitors will have to pay Rs 10 per head to avail the service, Panda added.
The move will boost tourism and also minimize pollution to a large extent, he added further.
Among others, Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation Mayor Ananta Narayan Jena, tourism director Nitin B Jawale and Khurda collector Nirmal Chandra Mishra were present on the occasion.
