Bhubaneswar: TP Central Odisha Distribution Limited (TPCODL), a joint venture of Tata Power and Odisha government, is transforming lives through its CSR initiatives Project Daksh and Odisha Green Jobs Academy.
Project Daksh focuses on practical skills for formal employment, while the Odisha Green Jobs Academy promotes sustainable trades like solar energy and EV maintenance.
The programmes help in arming rural youth and women with job-ready skills, thereby paving the way for employment and financial independence.
TPCODL’s Vocational Training Centres (VTCs), launched in September 2023 across Angul, Khurda and Cuttack districts, offer short-term, industry-aligned courses that meet National Skills Qualification Framework (NSQF) Level 3 standards.
The VTCs provide training in facility management, plumbing, electric vehicle service and solar panel installation.
Till date, 440 young men and women have been trained and certified, and all have been placed with top companies.
TPCODL CEO Arvind Singh reaffirmed the company’s commitment to building local capacities and empowering youth, particularly women. He said TPCODL’s vocational training initiatives are not only creating careers but also transforming lives.
