TPSODL Launches Mobile Substation To Address Power Supply Problems In Southern Odisha
Berhampur: In order to address the problems related to power supply to consumers, TP Southern Odisha Distribution Limited (TPSODL), has launched a mobile substation in area of its operation.
The mobile substation includes a distribution transformer, high tension and low tension protection devices along with other equipment. The plug-in type substation, mounted on a mobile trolley, requires around 1.5 hours for putting into service apart from the travel time.
The mobile substation will be used to quickly restore power supply to customers during failure of a transformer and in case of emergency services to hospitals, water supply or natural calamities like cyclone.
“The initiative is a part of our mission to introduce new technologies and provide reliable power supply to our customers. We will continue to innovate and introduce new services with a focus on customer satisfaction,” said Arvind Singh, Chief Executive Officer, TPSODL, a joint venture of Tata Power and Odisha Government.
Besides restoring power supply in case of faulty transformer, the mobile substation can be used in case of a refurbishment of the DSS. It can also be used in providing temporary power supply during project works.
