Cuttack: With the second inaugural celebrations of the Odisha Hockey Men’s World Cup scheduled to kick off at the Barabati Stadium on Wednesday evening, the commissionerate police have enforced new traffic regulations for the event.
Talking to mediapersons here on Wednesday, Cuttack DCP Akhileswar Singh said the new traffic regulation for the event would be enforced from 1 pm.
He said no three and four-wheelers coming from Sati Choura Chhak would be allowed to proceed towards the stadium via Shelter Chhak and Kanika Chhak. People coming to witness the celebrations will take the route along the Ring Road and park their vehicle at the Bhuasuni ground from where they can walk down to the stadium.
People coming in two-wheelers from the Chahata Chhak will proceed towards the Bali Jatra ground and keep their bike at the parking zone. From there, they will come to the stadium by foot.
Similarly, no three and four-wheelers coming from Biju Patnaik Chhak would be allowed to proceed towards the stadium via Dayashram Chhak. These vehicles would be parked at Christian Ground.
Besides, no three and four-wheelers coming from Chandi Chhak and Reserve Police Office would be allowed to directly proceed towards the stadium, the DCP pointed out.
He, however, said that the Bollywood and Ollywood actors would be allowed to pass through the Sati Choura Chhak, Shelter Chhak and Kanika Chhak and arrive at the gate number14 of the stadium via the PHD Office Road. They will be allowed to enter the stadium and park their vehicle at the parking zone inside the stadium premises.
