The Indian Railways have clarified that the failure was caused by cattle coming under the wheels.

The train was carrying journalists back from Varanasi who had boarded to cover the inaugural journey. They were soon shifted to another train, reported NDTV.

The Railways said that the journey to Delhi resumed at 8 15 am after ‘removing the obstacle’. The affected coach was isolated, reports Hindustan Times.
