Bhubaneswar: A group of around 50 transgenders took out a rally from Raj Mahal to Master Canteen Square to welcome the athletes of Asian Athletics Championships (AAC), scheduled to be held from July 6 to 9 at Kalinga Stadium here.
“We wish the best to all sportspersons. The largest-ever sporting event will be the pride of our state. It will also promote sports culture and sportsmanship among the people, especially the youth of the state”, said Madhuri Kinnar, who was leading the rally.
Among others, All Odisha Third Genders’ Welfare Trust secretary Rachana Kinnar and treasurer Ayesha Behera also participated.
