Transport Allowance For Students In Remote Odisha

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government has decided to provide transport allowance to students of primary and upper primary schools of deprived groups, who cover more than 1 KM to attend classes in remote areas of the state,

According to a notification issued by the School and Mass Education Department, transport allowance of Rs 600 per month will be given to a student with 75 per cent or above attendance, Rs 400 for those with 50 per cent-74 per cent attendance and Rs 300 to student having an attendance of 30 per cent to 50 per cent.

A student, whose attendance is less than 30 per cent, will not be eligible for the financial aid.

The allowance will be paid through account payee cheque or DBT and not exceed Rs 6000, the notification added.
