Balangir: A vehicle carrying question papers of the annual High School Certificate (HSC) Examination-2019 met with an accident on NH-55 near Bainda in Odisha’s Balangir district in the early hours of Thursday.
According to sources, the truck carrying the question papers from Cuttack to Balangir rammed into a speed breaker around 5 am and got tilted towards roadside.
Handapa police soon reached the spot and provided protection. A crane was used to bring it back onto the main road, following which it headed towards its destination, the sources added.
Meanwhile, Mass Education department Secretary Pradipta Mohapatra said that all preparation for the exams being conducted by the Board of Secondary Education (BSE) has been completed.
“The question papers reached the nodal centres last evening and the same will be sent to all the exam centres by 8.30 am tomorrow,” he said.
Elaborate security arrangements have been made by Odisha police for smooth conduct of matric examination, beginning on Friday, he added.
