Bhubaneswar/Cuttack: Transportation, supply, loading and unloading of goods was largely affected in the twin cities on Monday as trucks stayed off the road, owing to a 36-hour nationwide strike called by All India India Motor Congress.
The members of Odisha Truck Owners’ Association, who extended their support to the strike, picketed at different places in the state capital, including Mancheswar Industrial Estate area, to press for inclusion of diesel under the purview of Goods and Services Tax (GST) and other demands.
Similarly, Cuttack Mini Truck Association members also staged demonstrations at various places affecting movement of goods and other essential commodities.
