Berhampur: Was it revenge or honour killing? Both? Or honourable revenge?
An enraged father, Ladu Sabar of Rampudi village in Polasara area of Odisha’s Ganjam district waited for six months to even it out with Kartik Sabar, 40, who had misbehaved with his daughter. He got a chance on Monday and aimed his gun at the victim.
Ladu hid behind Kartik’s house and fired at the latter with a gun. The victim sustained bullet injuries and died on the spot.
According to reports, the deceased Kartik Sabar had absconded six months back after inviting Ladu’s ire for misbehaving with the latter’s daughter.
On being informed, Purushottampur police reached the village and recovered Kartik’s body. They detained Ladu for questioning and started an investigation into the matter.
On the basis of an FIR lodged by the deceased’s wife, police have registered a murder case and seized the weapon of offence from Ladu’s possession.
