Balangir: Police have arrested two persons for allegedly taking money for appointment as conductor in LAccMI bus in Odisha’s Balangir district.
Speaking to media persons on Monday, Ankita Kumbhar, Titlagarh SDPO, said Amit Kumar Mishra, additional transport manager, Balangir had filed a complaint stating that some persons were taking money from unemployed youths for giving them appointment in the post of conductor in buses under state government’s Location Accessible Multi-modal Initiative (LAccMI) scheme.
“On the direction of Balangir SP, we registered a case and started investigation. The complaint mentioned that the accused had taken Rs 25,000 from each aspirant for the LAccMi bus conductor post. We conducted raids on several places on the basis of the information provided by the victims and traced the accused,” the SDPO said.
Titlagarh police arrested two accused while their accomplice is absconding. The arrested persons are Sourabh Kumar Lima of Gunupur in Rayagada district and Benu Gopal Behera of Kantabanji in Balangir. Their accomplice Sanjeev Nayak is absconding.
The police forwarded the arrested persons to the court on the day. Earlier, one of the victims had informed the media and helped Balangir Town police nab one of the accused.
