Rourkela: Police have arrested two persons for availing a loan of over Rs 3 crore from an NBFC by producing fake documents in Rourkela of Odisha’s Sundargarh district.
According to sources, the arrested persons, identified as Abhaya Bhol of Chhend locality and Dinesh Sahu of Fertiliser Colony in the city, had used fake documents of 84 customers of the non-banking financial company to apply for the loans.
They had manipulated the signatures, documents and photos of the customers to fraudulently avail loan. They had availed loans amounting to Rs 3.16 crore from the company.
The forged documents of the loanees came to light during an internal audit of the financial firm. This led senior manager of the firm filed a complaint at Udit Nagar police station.
The police registered a case and arrested the fraudster duo after investigation on Wednesday.
