Jaleswar: Two brothers were hacked to death over a land dispute at Harinakuli village under Kamarda police station limits on Monday.
The deceased have been identified as Narayan Giri and Madhusudan Giri.
Sources said, one Durgashankar Das, the owner of a piece of land, attacked the duo with a sharp weapon after a verbal duel ensued over the transfer of a land.
Irked over the incident, a group of villagers set Durgashankar’s house on fire and later staged a road blockade demanding compensation for the family of the deceased.
Being informed about the matter, police rushed to the spot, seized the body and arrested the accused.
