Balasore: Two children drowned in a pond at Chakulia village under Remuna police limits in Balasore district on Wednesday.
They were identified as Raimani Bindhani and Hira Murmu.
The duo slipped and fell into the water body while taking bath in it.
When they did not return home for a long time, their families started looking for them and finally spotted their bodies, which were fished out of the pond by locals.
Bodies of the deceased children have been sent for postmortem.
According to villagers, the incident happened as no adult family member was accompanying the children.
