Two Counters Opened To Provide ‘Adapa Abadha’ In Odisha’s Puri

Puri: Arrangements have been made for smooth sale of ‘Adapa Abhada’ at Gundicha Temple, here where Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra will stay for a week as part of their annual sojourn.

The Adapa Abhada (cooked prasad) was offered to the Lords in the temple after the morning rituals on Wednesday. The Suara and Mahasuara Nijogs have opened two counters near the Uttar Dwara (North Gate) and Puri bus stand to sell the Mahaprasad.

Due to Rath Yatra related restrictions imposed in the town, only the local people can get the tokens from the two counters to get the Abhada as take-away.  They have to abide by the COVID-19 preventive measures while waiting at the counters in queue. But they are not allowed to enter the temple to have darshan of the deities due to the restrictions.
