Puri: Alert lifeguards saved two couples from drowning while they were bathing in the sea here Thursday morning.
According to reports, some tourists were bathing in the sea near Chaitanya Chhak when a big tide dragged the two couples from West Bengal to a distance of about 100 metres. Immediately, some lifeguards dived into the sea and brought them to the shore with the help of swim tubes.
The condition of the four persons is stated to be stable. They were identified as Gobind Dhara, Tanushree Dhara, Babula Malakar and Jhuma Malakar.
