Baripada: The COVID-19 positive cases in Mayurbhanj district went up to 623 on Wednesday with 20 fresh local cases reported in the last 24 hours.
Out of the new cases, two are COVID warriors and 9 local contact cases, according to a Health department release.
While one case each has been detected in Bangirposi, Batanati, Sukruli and Suliapada blocks, 2 cases each are from Badasahi, Udala and Jashipur blocks, 3 cases from Karanjia and 4 cases from Kaptipada blocks, one from Udala NAC and 2 from Baripada Municipality.
The two COVID warriors are from Jashipur and Baripada Municipality areas while out of 9 local contact cases, 2 have been detected from Badasahi and one each from Kaptipada, Betanati, Suliapada, Bangiriposi, Jashipur, Udala NAC and Baripada Municipality.
With 423 recoveries, Mayurbhanj district now has 189 active cases.
