Bhubaneswar: The Chandrashekharpur police have detained two persons for allegedly beating a dog to death in the Odisha capital on Sunday.
The accused has been identified as Suresh Kumar Digal (18), a native of Kandhamal. “Sudhir Behera (21), a native of Dhenkanal, was also present at the spot but had not assaulted the dog,” a police officer said on Monday.
A case has been registered under Section 429 of the IPC and Section 11 of The Prevention Of Cruelty to Animals Act in this connection.
