Cuttack: After a gap of almost 10 months due to COVID-19 restrictions, the Maa Cuttack Chandi temple in the city reopened for devotees on Friday.
As per the reopening protocols, only 20 devotees will be issued tokens to enter the temple at a time.
Also, police personnel have been deployed around the temple to ensure that COVID-19 guidelines are followed.
However, this didn’t deter a huge crowd from waiting outside the shrine since early morning to get darshan.
Also on Friday, the Baba Dhabaleshwar temple at Athagarh in Cuttack district reopened after 10 months. However, only the servitors and their families will be allowed darshan on the first day. Next, the residents of Mancheswar panchayat area will be allowed entry into the shrine on Saturday and Sunday.
The general public can get darshan from January 11.
As for the guidelines, 50 devotees can enter the temple at a time and they will have to maintain six feet distance between themselves.
