Bhubaneswar: Khurda district on Thursday reported 17 fresh COVID-19 positive cases, the highest count in a single day. Following this, the district’s cumulative total went up to 307,
Of the new cases, two are residents of Bhubaneswar. One of them is a 25-year-old male relative of a Surat returnee. The infected man is an employee of Apollo hospital in the city. The other is a 67-year-old male resident of Sriram Vihar apartment at Nayapalli.
Sources said contact tracing of the infected persons is continuing. The primary contacts and nearby houses are being quarantined, sanitised and kept under surveillance, they added.
At present, Khurda district has 118 active cases and reported four deaths due to the virus so far.
