Two Odisha Buses Collide Near Puri, 24 Injured

Konark: At least 24 passengers were injured, three of them critically, when a tourist bus going to Puri was hit by a passenger bus on Marine Drive Road here on Thursday.

However, no casualty was reported. All the injured were taken to the community health centre (CHC) at Gop.

According to reports, the tourist bus was coming from Patkuea with around 50 passengers on board when a Sola Pua Maa passenger bus hit it from behind around 12 noon. Later, police and fire fighting personnel reached the spot for a rescue operation.

Locals managed to detain the driver of the passenger bus and handed him over to police.

The accident came just a day after eight persons were killed and over 40 injured when a bus fell off a bridge at Palakhola in Ganjam district early on Wednesday.
