Chennai: All-rounder Govind Poddar and batsman Subhransu Senapati from Odisha are among the 241 players, who went unsold in the IPL 2021 auction held in Chennai on Thursday.
Both the cricketers had a base price of Rs 20 lakh.
A native of Rourkela, Poddar is Odisha Ranji team skipper. He had led Odisha to the quarter-finals of the 2016-17 Ranji Trophy after a gap of 16 years. Senapati is probably the best batsman in the squad.
Poddar was a surprise inclusion in the final auction list as the Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) had not recommended his name to the BCCI for the bidding process.
The six-player list recommended by OCA on January 22 included Senapati, Rajesh Dhupar, Rajesh Mohanty, Papu Ray, Gourav Choudhury and Tarini Sa.
