Bhubaneswar: Two schoolteachers from Odisha are among the 44 recipients of National Awards to Teachers, 2021.
They are Ajit Kumar Sethy, the acting headteacher of Government UPS Kanamana at Chhatrapur in Ganjam, and Ashok Kumar Satpathy, an assistant teacher at Zilla Government School in Bhadrak.
The Union Ministry of Education, Department of School Education and Literacy, published the list of the selected teachers from across the country on Wednesday.
Besides Odisha, two teachers each from Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Sikkim, Bihar, Gujarat, and Rajasthan have made it to the national honours list.
Among CBSE schools, two teachers have been selected from Delhi’s Bal Bharati Public School Dwarka and Rajasthan’s Birla Balika Vidyapeeth, Jhunjhunu. The list also includes a teacher from Eklavya model residential school, Karpawand, Bastar, Chhattisgarh.

The award ceremony will take place on September 5 when the 44 recipients will be felicitated by President Ram Nath Kovind.
