Two Odisha ‘Trailblazers’ In Women’s T20 Challenge 2022
Bhubaneswar: Two women cricketers – Priyanka Priyadarshini and Sujata Mallik – from Odisha will be playing in the upcoming Women’s T20 Challenge scheduled to start from May 23 to May 28 at Pune’s MCA stadium.
They will be playing for Trailblazers to be led by Smriti Mandhana, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced on Monday. Harmanpreet Kaur and Deepti Sharma as captains of Supernovas and Velocity respectively.
The All-India Women’s Selection Committee picked the three squads, each comprising a total of 16 members. “The best of Indian women’s cricket will combine with some of the leading stars from South Africa, England, West Indies and Australia. A total of twelve international players will compete in this year’s Women’s T20 Challenge,” BCCI stated.

This will be the 4th edition of the tournament, which was established in 2018. On May 22, 2018, a single match was played between IPL Trailblazers and IPL Supernovas at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai in which the former was the winner. Velocity was added to the competition in 2019.
The tournament consists of 4 games, including 3 group stage games and a final.
