Mumbai: A man and a woman, who were trying to sneak into superstar Salman Khan’s Galaxy apartment, have been arrested by Mumbai Police.
The trespassers, identified as Jitendra Kumar Singh (23) and Isha Chhabra (32), made separate attempts to enter the actor’s residence on Tuesday and Wednesday, police said on Thursday.
According to Mumbai police, Jitendra, a resident of Chhattisgarh, was first seen loitering around Salman’s house on Tuesday morning at around 9.45 am. When a policeman deployed outside the actor’s residence asked him to leave, Jitendra smashed his phone on the ground in a fit of rage.
The same evening, the trespasser followed a car and sneaked into Salman’s residence.
“That evening, at around 7.15 pm, Singh entered Galaxy Apartments by following a car belonging to a person living in the same building. He managed to enter the premises but was caught by the police again. This time, they handed him over to the Bandra police,” an officer was quoted as saying by NDTV.
During interrogation, the accused confessed that he wanted to meet the actor but the security was not allowing him, so he sneaked in.
On Wednesday, a woman named Isha managed to reach the lift of the actor’s apartment at around 3.30 am, police said.
When taken into custody, the woman claimed that she met the actor six months ago and was invited by him to his house.
However, Salman’s family denied extending any such invitation to the trespasser.
“The two accused have been arrested and cases of trespassing have been registered against them,” the officer said.
Last year on April 14, two men on motorcycle opened fire outside Salman’s residence.
Following several death threats from the Bishnoi gang, Salman has been provided with ‘Y plus’ security.
At a press meet in March this year, Salman opened up about the extensive security. “No, it’s not when I’m with the press. It’s when I’m without the press, that cramps my style. No, obviously not. I cannot do anything. It’s from my residence Galaxy to shoot, and then back home after the shoot. No detours.”
