Sambalpur: Two youths including an engineering graduate were arrested by Cyber Police, here on Wednesday on charges of collecting money from youths by publishing recruitment notification in the name of WESCO on a fake website.
Police said the accused, identified as Sunil Kumar Mishra, hailing from Rourkela and Auro Tapas Moahapatra, had hosted a fake website in the name of www.wescoodisha.co.in. Sunil had passed electrical engineering from Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology (VSSUT), Burla in 2018.
The accused have been booked under Sections 419, 420, 465, 467, 468, 470, 471 of IPC and several Sections of IT Act. They were produced in the court after arrest.
The general manager of the utility in July had lodged a police complaint in this regard.
