Ujjain: The boundary wall of the sacred Mahakal Temple here collapsed on Friday evening amid incessant rain.
Two people have lost their lives, and several others are feared trapped under the debris, reported PTI.
Some of the injured have been shifted to hospitals, with full-fledged rescue operations are underway as seen in video clips shared by PTI.
Those engaged in the operation are not being able to gauge the number of people trapped under debris.
The Hindu temple, situated by the side of Shipra river, is one of 12 Jyotirlingas, which are shrines believed to be the most sacred abodes of Lord Shiva. It is located in the ancient city of Ujjain in the state of Madhya Pradesh, India. The temple is situated on the side of the holy river Shipra.
