London: Margaret Keenan, a 90-year-old woman, became the first person to receive COVID-19 vaccine outside of trials in the world.
Keenan received the jab of the Pfizer vaccine at her local hospital in Coventry, central England, on Tuesday morning at 0631 GMT.
Britain became the first country in the western world to roll out the COVID-19 vaccine developed by Pfizer and BioNTech on Tuesday.
The mass vaccination has fuelled hope around the world as it signals the beginning of the end of the pandemic. Incidentally, Pfizer is also the first company to apply for vaccine emergency use in India.
