Undertrial Prisoner Dies In Ganjam

Berhampur: An undertrial prisoner of Chhatrapur Sub-jail in Ganjam district died on Sunday.
He was identified as Sibaram Pradhan.
A resident of Digapahandi, he had been behind the bars since last eight months in connection with an illegal ganja smuggling case.
According to information, Pradhan was rushed to MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur after he complained of feeling unwell this morning.
However, the doctors at the hospital declared him dead.
Family members of the deceased, however, alleged that he died due to the negligence of the jail authorities.
Following the incident, a police officer informed that an inquiry will be conducted to ascertain the exact reason behind his death.
