Bhubaneswar: Union Minister J P Nadda is scheduled to visit AIIMS, Bhubaneswar, on Saturday.
He will inaugurate Central Research Laboratory facility and lay the foundation stone of multiutility (gastronomy) block.
Executive Director, AIIMS-Bhubaneswar, Dr. Ashutosh Biswas said that the laboratory will elevate the research capabilities of the institute and provide a strong boost to scientific discovery and translational research in the region. “This cutting-edge lab is expected to significantly empower doctors, researchers, and scholars in developing innovative healthcare solutions and conducting impactful medical research,” he said.
He further stated that the modern infrastructure will address space constraints and offer multiple services under one roof, enhancing the operational efficiency and community engagement of AIIMS-Bhubaneswar.
Nadda will also launch the new AIIMS-Bhubaneswar website, integrated with several public-friendly features and digital services. Furthermore, the EHS Clinic and AMRIT Pharmacy will be officially inaugurated, improving accessibility to essential health services and affordable medicines, an official release said.
The visit will conclude with a comprehensive review meeting, where the Union Minister will assess the ongoing developments, inspect facilities, it added.
Nadda is on a two-day visit to Odisha. He inaugurated Ayushman Bharat PM Jan Arogya Yojana and Ayushman Vay Vandana Yojana at Bali Jatra Ground in Cuttack after arriving in Bhubaneswar at around 1 pm on Friday. He is also scheduled to inaugurate the new building of the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Post Graduate Institute of Paediatrics.
Besides AIIMS-Bhubaneswar, the Union Minister will also visit the Central Institute of Petrochemicals Engineering and Technology (CIPET) here. Later, he will formally inaugurate a three-day training programme for all BJP MPs and MLAs in Puri.
