Bhubaneswar: Pattapur police station in Odisha’s Ganjam district, which has ranked in top three police stations in the country, will be awarded by Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
The Home Minister will personally present the award to the Station House Officer (SHO) of Pattapur police station during the DGsP/IGsP Conference-2024 in Bhubaneswar on November 29.
Speaking to the media on the award, DIGP (Southern Range) Sarthak Sarangi, DIG, southern range, said Pattapur police station’s exceptional performance helped it bag the award.
He further said the police stations were selected on the basis of the criteria of “Investigation and Crime Detection: The overall performance in solving cases and maintaining law and order” and “Public Feedback: A survey capturing the general opinions of people residing within the jurisdiction of the concerned police station”.
While Pattapur and Dharakote police stations from the district were nominated, the former was selected for its high-quality performance.
Earlier, Aska and Gangpur police stations in the district had also achieved similar recognition, he added.
