New Delhi: Union Minister of State for Food Processing Industries & Jal Shakti Prahlad Singh Patel recently received a sextortion call.
After the minister reported the incident to the Delhi Police Commissioner, the Crime Branch arrested Mohammad Vakil and Mohammad Sahib from Rajasthan’s Bharatpur. However, main suspect Sabir is still at large.
Investigation revealed that the suspects were involved in an organised gang involved in sextortion calls and blackmail activities.
The complaint, filed by Patel’s personal secretary Alok Mohan, the accused directly targeted the minister by making a WhatsApp video call to his mobile number.
During the call, the cyber criminals played a pornographic video with to blackmail the minister. Realising the danger, the minister quickly ended the call and informed police about the incident.
