New York: A group of American women has launched an unprecedented protest against men who voted for Republican candidate Donald Trump in the recent Presidential election.
Dubbed the ‘4B Movement’, similar to that in South Korea, the protesting women have pledged to boycott dating, relationships and marriage with men who helped Trump become President for a second term.
The women were frustrated as they feel Trump’s win over Democrat candidate Kamala Harris means a big blow to women’s rights and progressive causes.
Trump’s promise to ban abortion is among the issues these women are most concerned about, along with gender equality and the future of American democracy.
Women have taken to social media to declare their ‘sex strike’.
Their slogan is — No sex, no dating, no marriage, no babies with men who voted for Trump at least not for the next four years.
On platforms like TikTok and Instagram,
Young women have been sharing videos on platforms like TikTok and Instagram where they vow to remain celibate, delete dating apps and encourage their peers to abstain from romantic relationships with men who supported Trump.
“By choosing not to engage in relationships, we are reclaiming our power. We are making it clear that our voices, our rights, and our bodies are not up for debate,” a young woman says in a viral video.
The bold and cheeky stance has set Internet abuzz for sure, leaving netizens baffled and amused.
